Kindly help me to understand the following points:

(1) Why is it so important for dealers to disclose whether the car is a 'rented' car at the time of purchase?

(2) A dealer wrote on the "purchase order with federal disclosures" form in which the buyer keeps the yellow copy that the warranty is 30 days and exchange only if something is wrong with the car. But then there is another form that he stated we could reject or sign to purchase in the amount of $500 for a 3-day return. It didn't say return for refund. The Dealer stated that by law we would need to fill out the form. So does this mean that w/in the three days if we were to return the vehicle, the dealer would exchange for another vehicle or would he need to give us a full refund?

(3) Since the used vehicle we purchased was a 'rental' does this mean that the current plate is traceable? In essence, if the previous owner of the vehicle we have purchased has extra key, could he/she take the vehicle back if they know where we live?

What state are you in? Is it a dealer that you are getting the car from? Do they have a title for the vehicle? As far as disclosing it as a rental, that is required because the vehicle was used by many people. The result could be that it was driven differently or much harder which may lead to mechanical issues.

As far as the dealer, you need to transfer the vehicle into your name, receive a new plate that is registered to you, and then it is your vehicle and no one can take it from you.

I have to be honest, rental companies do place liens on their vehicles, but I never heard of one being repossessed.
