Code P2765, Input Speed Sensor replacement?

My car listed above began having issues accelerating, especially from a stop. The car would slightly jerk and. I brought it to the dealer and was told the Input Speed Sensor needed to be replaced. I was told this means the entire transmission needs to be replaced as the Input Speed Sensor is within the transmission.

After some online research, I am seeing some conflicting information about being able to fix the Input Speed Sensor without needing to replace the entire transmission.

OBD Code: P2765

Does anyone have any advice or expertise on whether the Input Speed Sensor can be replaced without needing to replace the entire transmission?

The P2765 code indicates a problem with the Input/Turbine Speed Sensor "B" Circuit. So, this might be the sensor, but it might be something inside the transmission has gone bad and the sensor is picking that up due to low fluid pressure or slipping FYI. There are three speed sensors which are all outside the transmission case, so they are replaceable. Here are all of the speed sensor locations. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.

Thanks, Ken. The dealership said the speed sensor needs to be replaced but insisted the entire transmission would need to be replaced as a result, meaning you can’t just replace the speed sensors. Is that true?

These cars have the Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) which had problems, I would check the fluid condition and if it smells burnt, I would replace the transmission, you can give the speed sensor a shot if you want to.
