A/C is warm on drivers side, ice cold on passenger side

It sounds like you have a faulty air temp actuator. The vehicle ha dual climate control, so there are two of them that control the temp, one for the left and one for the right. If the door isn't opening or closing properly, the temperature will be affected.

Take a look through this link. It explains in general how one is replaced. It is referred to as a blend air door actuator in the link. It is the same thing.

drivers side heater temp control not working

It may be the air vent door actuator.I have attached information on part, HVAC digram view and identification chart to locate left side actuator.

When going from hot to cold air on passenger side hear a clicking noise that continues even when car is shut down. After a minute or so the clicking stops. Also, when running defrost hot air works fine for ten to twenty minutes and hear a clicking noise in dash. Then hot moist air will fog up inside windshield and windows. But after stopping the fan and moving the controls back and forth and restarting the fan in defrost mode the fogging stops. Doesn't sound like a heater core problem when it's intermittent. Have any ideas on what that problem could be?

This sounds like it could be a multi headed problem. I have included a HVAC noise symptom flowchart in the diagrams below to help track down what is going on. The fact that your defrost is blowing moist air would suggest that there is also an issue with the heater core. I have included location and removal guide, also, in the diagrams below. Installation is the the reverse of removal. Let us know what you find out.

when heater is on blows out cold air on passenger side.

try pulling HVAC fuse inside car for sixty seconds with key on it then reinstall it may reset the actuator. Otherwise the actuator could be bad. Here is a guide to help walk you through the steps and the location of the right side actuator.

If so the only actuator to worry about is the passenger side blend door actuator.

My car blows cold air on the drivers side and hot air on the passenger side when the heater is selected.

More than likely, you have a fault with a temperature actuator. The one that deviates from requested, would be the one suspected. There would be a fault code in the system, that would confirm this. Try this actuator recal procedure and see if it restores normal operation, this may be temporary.
Actuator Recalibration
Calibration Procedure
Use the following steps to perform the calibration update:

Turn OFF the ignition.
Remove the battery positive voltage circuit fuse of the HVAC Control Module.
Important: The module memory will not clear if the battery positive voltage circuit fuse is installed in less than 60 seconds.

Wait 60 seconds.
Install the fuse.
Wait 60 seconds before moving the HVAC controls.

The fuse that powers the HVAC module, is the DIC/RKE fuse in the RH junction block, behind the right side instrument panel access panel. I am not sure what the collateral may be for removing this fuse, since it has the letters RKE in the heading. It may lose the remote keyless entry programming.

The car has a dual heating switch. I replaced the heater control module thinking it was that but it was blowing air just not getting warm on the drivers side.

With dual climate control, you have two blend air doors. They are designed to control the amount of heat or cold air entering the vehicle. It sounds like one is stuck. Both are located near the heater core HVAC box. Check to see if they are both working (opening and closing).

When dual climate control both are set to cold and A/C is on the passenger side gets cold air but driver gets warm. How do I fix this problem?

It is very possible the blend door motor on the driver's side is not working.

Very common failure.

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the left instrument panel (I/P) insulator.
2. Remove the knee bolster bracket bracket.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the left air temperature actuator.
4. Remove the mounting screws from the left air temperature actuator.

i have dual climate control pass. side works great but the drivers side just blows cold air everything else works

sounds like you have a bad temp actuator for the drivers side. you can remove it and check and make sure the blend door isnt binding

I have a 2000 Chevy Impala with 76,000 miles. It has the 3.4 L engine (the non-SS model). The AC blows nice and cold on the passenger side, but no cold air blows from the driver side. It does not have dual climate control. Any ideas on what to look for?

I had the same problem and my car was under warranty they replace the the whole a/c panel. The actuators were sticking bad ac controllers.
