I started the car the other day and turned on the A/C and my car instantly shut off and I cannot restart it. no clicks, no sounds, no nothing. In the "on" position, the car throws a bunch of errors at me that keep cycling over and over. The shifter is also locked in park and I cannot move it. I have dash lights and the radio but nothing else, no headlights or dome lights. Please help!

Hello,

This sounds like this could be a problem with your battery. Check the connections and make sure they are clean, corrosion free, and tight, making good metal to contact. I have included a few links down below for you to go to:

The battery is only six months old. i cleaned off the terminals and connections to be sure they were free of any corrosion or debris of any kind.. made sure everything had a good 100% metal to metal contact. Also the battery was disconnected for thirty minutes in a attempt to hard reset the computer and still the same results. PCM? Relay? Blown fuse? Computer fried? A/C compressor seized?

Hello again,

Okay, can you get me the exact DTC numbers from the Data Link Connector. You will need a code reader. If you are unsure on how to do this I have included a link for you to go to below.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/checking-a-service-engine-soon-or-check-engine-light-on-or-flashing

If you do not have a code reader you can go to your local parts house, like Autozone, and they will read them for you for free. Please get back to us with the list of DTC's. They will have a letter and four numbers after the letter.

Thanks,
Alex

I have already tried two different scanners, neither one can pull any codes. Just says "connecting".

My brother in law is my hero! Okay, so there are some bigger fuses under the fuse box by the battery..took that off looked at them, they looked alright. then he tried to start it up and BOOM! it started right up.. wth!?! Best we can come up with is the anti-theft got tripped somehow.. question mark.. anyways if you have a Ford keep in mind those hidden fuses! Thanks for all the help.

Good work! can you take a picture and upload it on where the fuses are? That would be great and it will help others.

Everything is back in place currently. I wasn't there to take a picture but I'm told under the fuse box under the hood.. take that fuse box off and they are sitting right there... good luck and thanks to all for all of your help. This is a great place for people who don't have a lot of money for huge repairs to at least get some help troubleshooting the issue...
