Brakes Grinding?

Hi,
When driving the car, a grinding noise is heard from under the body.
I stopped the car for three times and visually checked the under body for any abnormalities and I could not find any. After driving for a mile, the sound stopped automatically then comes back. Whats wrong with my car?
