How much does it cost to replace the transmission waffle bearing ?

I am considering buying the vehicle listed above that is very clean with low miles, however, the seller tells me that it needs a transmission waffle bearing and I have never heard of such a thing. I am curious about the cost of getting that repaired and also if someone could tell me the symptoms of such a failure. He has offered to take $1,000.00 off the sale price if I buy and have it replaced myself. Any info would be great

Hi,

I suspect the term Waffle Bearing is slang for something different. Neither I nor my manual ever heard of it. See pic below.

Is it possible to ask him to be more specific? Not knowing exactly what he is referring to leaves the playing field wide open for repairs/symptoms/cost.

Remember, buyer beware. We need confirmation on exactly what he is referring to. The thousand off may cost you more than you expect.
