The A/C compressor clutch engages and turns the compressor. The low side reading shows plenty of Freon in the system. it basically acts as if the Freon is not circulating. what can be the issue here? thanks

Hello, I'm Danny.

It sounds like you're having a problem with the blend door actuator. It's a small electric motor that opens and close the doors in the HVAC unit to direct air through certain ducts. Here is tutorial showing what is involved in its replacement:

I've attached pictures below showing its location and description.Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.

Hmm. Now keep in mind that it is not blowing hot air like the heater is on. It is blowing non air conditioned air. Like the Freon is not circulating in the system. The compressor clutch engages and the compressor does not make abnormal sounds. I kind of thought it to be the expansion valve. And hallway wondered about the ambient temperature sensor.

Hello,

It sounds like the compressor has gone bad but to be sure we need a high side reading (between 190 psi and 240 psi) here is a guide to confirm the failure with a guide to help walk you through the compressor replacement if it is bad and instructions and diagrams below to show you how to replace the unit on your car.
