Gauge stops at half

I recent bought this car and the gas gauge stops at about half tank. I can fill it up and it go to F but if it's out of gas it will still read half tank. Where I bought it from replaced the fuel level sensor on the fuel pump but it didn't fix the issue. The car was bought as-is and they're not providing any more assistance. What is the problem and solution?

Hi,

I attached the description of the system and possible causes. Read through this and see tell me what you find. The key thing is to try to identify the symptoms.

The most important thing is, does it sweep up and down when you start the vehicle? It sounds like your gauge will not drop below half. Meaning it will act properly when you fill the tank but when it gets to half a tank, if stops?

Do you have any codes? Also, if you have access to a scan tool we need to see what the ECM is saying the level is. This will help us limit down the causes. However, at this point, it appears to be one of three things. Wiring, ECM, or the Cluster since the level sensor was replaced.
