Have you checked the oil level, pressure and condition?
This fault is usually caused by the VVTi system not functioning correctly when the camshaft is not retarding or advancing its timing and seldom a sensor fault.
Were any repairs done on the engine?

You need to check the oil level and pressure. If necessary, replace the oil and run engine for a while to get the mechanical parts working correctly first.
Check to see if the oil is sludged.

Test the pressure and ensure it is getting to the top. Make sure the oil filter is not damaged. The front seal leaking could indicate a problem there at the housing.

If you turn the crankshaft counterclockwise, it can result in that. Turn crankshaft clockwise and get # 1 cylinder to TDC on compression stroke and note if tension builds up.

Yes but you mentioned replacing it.
Was there any damage to engine components around oil filter area?
Have you checked if oil is getting to top of engine? When removing the sensor, was it dry or filled with oil?

The new code indicates the donor sensor is either bad, wrong or has wiring fault.
