I drove over a stone that hit the oil chamber. A flash of engine oil indicator on the console led me to suspecting damage. I stopped and examined and seeing the high oil leakage, shut off the engine in a matter of 39 seconds from the time it was hit.
Car was towed and 2 days later, the dealership tells me there are scoring marks on the main bearing which I refused to believe was caused in such a short span. I suspect foul play since the car was left at the dealership and that these folks don;t have a great reputation in India on their quality of service. They have recommended an engine overhaul...well ! The car has done 30000 kms and I got the service also ahead of the schedule.
With a background in Mechanical Engg and a driving experience of 30 years, I surfed the net to confirm but am not getting any convincing answers. My suspicion is growing. Please advice.
