2012 Scion tC non-aspirated tune

Good Afternoon,

I have recently added on my 2012 scion tc a cold air intake, tsudo catback, dezod green headers, and RS S-Pipe. i was wondering if it would be damaging to my car if i did not re-tune it for the new mods. If a re-tune is possible, will disconnecting my battery suffice ( as the ECU will reset itself)? or would i need a professional tune?

nope if you retune ityou have to get a chip made by one of the aftermarket places. the are about $500 if they even have on efor your car look in the magazines.

I already knew that. The question is.. should I remap my car ECU because of these mods, or should the ecu be able to re program itself over time. If a remapping of the ecu is needed, will simply disconnecting the battery work, or is a retune needed.

theecm will only reprogram so far so you really need to drive it and seeif it runs ok or not. with those air filter that you put on be very careful putting oil on it as it can screw up the sensor if you put to much on it. You cannot remap your car ecm nor will disconnecting battery remap it either. that is why you need to get the aftermarket tuners. So drive it and see what happens it may be ok and may not. If it's not then you'll need to get a tuner
