You may want to consider a good grease gun too. Also, make sure the hand tools you get include metric box end wrenches from 12 - 18mm. That will cover 99% of the drain plugs. Raz also remommended an oil filter wrench. You will need a strap wrench, and remember many vehicles have an internal filter. As a result, you will need sockets. If I recall, the largest one I ever needed was 22mm.

Just to add to this one the 2.2L gm eco tech engine oil filter is a 32mm and really common engine. They make a low profile socket for that one. Also the newer toyotas like 2009 or 2008 started with a new canister cap and takes a special cup they sell both on amazon pretty cheap. some cars take the torx 45 like the 3.0L engine they use in the saturn L model and some of the saturn vues.As you work on the cars you will see what you need. They also sell oil filter cup sets recomend them and a small and large oil filter strap wrench. They also sell adjustable cup wrenches for the smaller spin on toyota oil filters.

Thanks, Saturntech9. I screwed up. That is the engine I was thinking of. NOT 22mm 32mm.

Good Luck,
Joe

You may want to purchase that socket seperately. It will be expensive if you get a set. As far as Sears or Harbor Freight, just get a set of box end wrenches and a socket set. I do recommend getting both standard and metric in both.
