2012 Chevrolet Impala TPMS sensor

That shouldn't need programmed. Can you explain what is happening?

No thing is going wrong yet. I just bought a new car and I was learning about the tpms sensors. So when they go out in my car I can fix them. I read when you rotate your tires you need to relearn the tire location with in the cars computer. But I have read that you have to have a computer to enter the frequency code to the car on a new tpms sensor, that is installed into the rim. Do I need to buy a relearn tool? I think it is called for when I install a new sensor? Or can I just go through the cars relearn program?

No tool is needed for the TPM sensors. It is a pain, but doesn't require any tools. Basically, you put the car's computer into a relearn cycle by pressing both the lock and unlock buttons on the FOB. At that point, you start at the front left tire. Let air out until the horn beeps. Then you move to the right front, right rear, and left rear and do the same thing. Once the car recognizes each tire's location, just add air to get the tires back to the recommended pressure and you're done. You have to be quick when doing this. If I recall, you get either 30 seconds or 1 minute to do each tire before the system shuts down.
