I accidentally backed into a concrete pole in my parking garage. The damage removed the paint. There is a thick bank (2) approximately 2cm thick. Anyone have a suggestion- other than bringing it to a repair shop? I was thinking of wet sanding it, applying dealer paint- adding additional coats, then using cement wax. Not sure if a polish would help....

the damage is on the quarter panel above the back wheel. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to post a picture but I'm having some difficulty.

Hi:

I hate to say it, but I need to see what the damage is. Let me know if you get the pit uploaded.

Because the damage is on the body line, it is more difficult to repair. You will need to sand it down to metal and use putty to straighten the damage. Once you do that and get it straight again, then you can wet sand and paint it. It really isn't as easy as it sounds. To match the body line takes a trained hand.

Let me know if you have other questions.
