GEAR SELECTOR NOT WORKING

hi there...sometimes the shifting gear from P to R,N or D fails, it jams and i press the brakes hard too, after a few times then it shifts...could you please tell me what is the problem?

Thi should be a problem with the shift interlock system. Check and ensure the brake lights are working at all times. It can be the shafter cable as well here are instructions in the diagrams below to help you fix the problem.

If the brake lights are functioning normally-Have the shift interlock control solenoid checked/tested-start here and let us know

Hi,
My kia sportage automatic gear shifting to 4th gear hardly and rpm reaches 6000 also after shifting car not responding to pedal and max speed it reaches is 120km/h
What could be the reason of that?

Has the check engine light come on? Is the trans fluid clean and full? Has anyone checked the shift solenoids?
