hey ya'll,

i have read about a common problem with these kia sorrentos and i've got it now. the airbag light recently came on, and it could be anything from a loose connection, corroded connection, sensor gone bad, to an actual problem with the airbag.

it's obviously coding, but I don't have a code reader. do you have any advice on how to DIY as much as possible without spending $$$ at the dealer?

steps so far:

1. unplugged the battery for 45 min to let voltage run out to clear the codes.
2. checked for obvious problem with the wires under the seats. i pushed them as close together as possible without disconnecting them. (have a fear that the airbag could deploy on me?)
3. reset the battery and the indicator is back on.

you have to have a pro read the air bag problem that is only way. any garage can do it. this should be fixed or looked at by a pro anyhow as it can blow off due to having a rollover sensor integrated in the air bag itself and moved or jostled to much will let it explode.
