Mirror out of alignment?

I think that my passanger's side mirror may be out of alignment even though the dealer says it is not. When I point the glass part out very far I still see half of what is behind me and half of the next lane. I am not sure that seeing so much of what is behind me is normal for a passanger's side mirror. It snaps into position so the dealer says it is fine. Is it likely out of alignment?

I would go sit in a similar car and see how that mirror is, but i feel that it will be ok, as you say you do have the mirror pointing out at the extremity of it's movement, with out actually viewing this it is hard to make a judgment.
