shifting hard, meaning it not shifting smooth

My Taurus's transmission is shifting hard, meaning it not shifting smooth. Does this mean my transmission is about to go bad, or should I just get the transmission changed? Will that help the transmission from shifting funny?

This happens when the pressure regulating solenoid goes out here is the instructions on how to change it out. Check out the diagrams (Below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.
