It's on the back side of the engine, near the firewall, threaded into the top of the block. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

I all of a sudden have zero oil pressure and a low oil pressure light. There is enough oil and I change oil every time the oil change light comes on. There are no error codes retrieved by my obII reader. The engine runs and starts fine. I was led to believe it was the sending unit which went bad. I cannot locate on the block can you tell me where it is. It is also a flex fuel v-8.

In General Motors the oil pressure sending unit does 2 things tells you about the oil pressure and also powers the fuel pump as a safety feature in the event of an accident it kills the fuel pump instead of fuel all over the place.

The ol pressure regulates the oil pressure sending unit

No fuel or oil pressure

How do I get to the oil pressure sensor to replace it. Seems I have a rectangle shaped distributor cap or other electronics in the way and I can't even see the sensor even though I know roughly where it is.

You didn't specify your engine. I gave you 3 to view. The Fuel Pump Oil pressure Switch for the
- 4.3L Vin W is on top left rear of engine, near distributor
- 5.0L Vin M & 5.7L Vin R is on top left rear of engine, near distributor
- 6.5L Vin F and S has no pic but is located under intake mainfold center of engine.
- 7.4L Vin J on on top left rear of engine, near distributor.
- The letter will be the 8th digit on your VIN.

service manual states the oil pressure switch is a secondary circuit for the fuel pump (not activating when ign is turned on), I cannot locate the switch on engine block. I found a switch (or sensor?) on pass side, just above oil pan. When i loosened it, coolant came out. Is this the oil press switch or something else and where is the oil pres switch located?

are you trying to figure out why your fuel pump is not turning on? the switch is at the top back of the block by the distrubitor.
