2010 Chevrolet Suburban Tow/Haul mode

I'm just wondering when/how I should use this mode. Should I use it continuously while pulling a boat 160 miles up hills and on highway? I've read the manual and found it to be somewhat vague on how to use this feature. Any help is greatly appreciated.
