temp gauge reads cold

I had to replace the coolant sensor thanks! Cost me $43.00. good as new

i was driving at 1:30 pm and the A/C was on and was a lil cold. suddenly i felt hot air coming out from the A/C and the gauge dropped to the lowest point immediately...this is the first time this happens to me...what might cause such a thing? and is it dangerous to drive like that?

no it's not dangerous, you may have had a accumalator fail or move during driving. if the ac still blows hot then have it checked as you could have blown a line or something similar.

thanx hmac300 for the quick answer... i trie to start my car just an hour ago and the gauge was low...i turned the A/c on and it blows hot air...i kept it on for like 5 minutes and i heard a sound ( the one you hear when A/C starts working) ... and air was cold and the gauge moved up slowly to normal position...and now i started the car again to see if the problem is gone...but the gauge dropped again and started going up very slowly to normal...it's crazy ...

It does this because the computer thinks the engine is overheating which you can check to see if it is or not, it could be a bad engine coolant temperature sensor.

the gauge is working when i start the car...and when the system done checking it goes down... maybe the sending unit... thank you so much and ill go to the dealership tom...
