2009 Volkswagen Beetle rubbing or grindi.ng noise

I "bottomed out" the front of my car when I ran over a parking curb. I scraped the bottom of the pan and now it is making a rubbing or grinding noise in the front. HOWEVER I only hear the noise when it is in park, drive and reverse, I dont hear it when the car is in neutral. Any Ideas as to what is rubbing. (im pretty sure that whatever is rubbing is rubbing on the pan/shield/shroud. Thank you so much

You know we can't see that over a computer. It's pretty certain it's not going to be a serious repair, but as a guess, I'd expect to find a sheet metal pan that got pushed up and it's hitting on a pulley on the engine. The engine rocks when shifted into drive and reverse, and that will make things change position and rub, but it should be equally at rest in park and neutral. Regardless, it won't take a mechanic long to identify the cause, and if it's a pan or splash shield, it won't take much to straighten that out so it doesn't hit anything.
