2009 Opel Corsa Motor Start

does the exhaust burn your eyes and nose when you smell it and is it thick white smoke? if so you may have a leaking head gasket. when the car is cool check the coolant and see if its low. if the smoke is blue or gray youre burning oil or fuel. pull out the spark plugs and look for heavy black or oily residue on the electrode tip that goes into the combustion chamber. it could be a bad spark plug.

It does burn my eyes and nose. Its not thick white smoke. I did take out the spark plugs, 1, 2 and 3 seems okay but no 4 has got little bit of oil on, not much. If the gasket is leaking the bakkie would be like that all the time. Its only the first half minute or so that the sound like a tractor and that white smoke came from the exhaust. After that half minute the bakkie is fine.

what generally happens is there is a pinhole that allows a small amount of coolant in each time the car is shut off.then when you start it that coolant burns off. however if cyl 4 is wet you need to make sure its wet with oil. all we're worried about is the little prong electrode that goes into the hole. do you have to add coolant? take that plug back out and when its wet what does it smell like and does it air dry if you leave it out. fuel will dry and oil will not

I did drove my bakkie again, just because I think its just something small. So today my bakkie was standing the whole day and I took out all the spark plugs again, and all 4 spark plugs are clean, no oil on it. Then I saw the radiator water in that round plastic bottle is empty. I had to top up the radiator water a few times the last 2 weeks. I never did before because it was always at the cold mark. The dipstick I took out and it looked like there's water in the oil. So I assume the head gasket isn't lekker any more?? But where can all the water then be, because the dipstick does not show its over filled now with water? And if the motor did get hot, why didn't it show on the heat gauge? The heat gauge always showed till the half mark. Is there something else that could have went wrong? Like I have said, my bakkies got only 36000 km on.
Please help!!

if theres water in the oil then the head gaskets blown. the car wont show hot if its low on coolant,the sensor reads liquid, not steam.

Hi there same problem with my 1400 utility but no oil in the water
replaced the spark plugs little better but still idles badly for the first 30 seconds. Any progress on your problem

I had 2 strip the motor. Im busy with my head now. Just remember, the water is going to be in the oil, not oil in the water. Just check your dipstick for possible water in oil.

Thanks Gideon took car to a mechanic head gasket blown was losing water via the exhaust. Only 118000 km on clock and it never overheated

My head has been done, gas flowed, valves been polished and lapped in.
Put a branch on. I'eve started the bakkie, idles nice and I can drive with it.
The problem is, it does pick up revs, but not like it should. Can anyone help me with this one please????

did you do the work or a shop. it sounds like they may have the timing off just a smidge

I did the work on the head, and put all together. Did check that no 1 piston, closest to cambelts is tdc with inlet and outlet valves are closed with camshafts 2 lobes shows exactly up.

ok. do a compression test on each cylinder to eliminate the head as a problem.
