2009 Opel Corsa engine fails to start sometimes

Car fails to start engine at times not always with no obvious reason why even when everything would have been switched off. It has a mileage of 210 000km and does the cataltyic converter have an effect on this also.

When you say it doesn't start, do you mean the starter doesn't engage or does it crank the engine but the engine not start?

As far as the catalytic converter, in most cases, the it will not cause this issue. If it is completely plugged, the car would either not run at all or it would have a major power loss.
