Just a couple days ago i noticed water (not antifreeze) on the passenger floor where your feet are placed. Dry everywhere else. I pulled the carpet back and noticed water dripping very slowly out of this black plastic circle where your feet would be if you stretched. Need to figure out the best way to approach and repair this situation.

The drain tube is plugged for the air conditioner condensate drain. Look under the hood on the passenger side of the firewall for a 4" long rubber hose hanging down with a 90 degree bend in it. Squeeze the end to open it up and let any debris flow out. If nothing comes out, squeeze the wire ring holding it onto the plastic spout, pull the hose off, then poke a pencil into the spout to dislodge any debris. You might have to find that hose by crawling under the car. It depends on how much room they gave you to work back there.

This video will help you fix it.

I am looking at an '09 Lincoln MKZ and found out that the dealership had left the driver door window open for a while (?) and it was all wet. Should I be concerned about the electrical in the doors and seats? The car has a 4 year/50,000 mile warranty on it (26,000 miles on it currently) - should I ask for an extended warranty and if so what length?

Thank you

Connie:

The electronics in the door should be okay. If they are willing to give you an extended warranty on that area, take it. However, if everything is working, it should be fine.

Passenger side floor gets wet only in one spot, rear of floor pan on the right. Does not happen all the time. Last time it happened we had a lot of rain, when we were splashed by a passing car on the right. It was a lot of water. Next day the carpet was wet.

It sounds like the windshield is leaking. To confirm it take a garden hose and blast the windshield and then check the floor, if wet the windshield will need to be replaced.

Please let us know what happens.
