I bought a use car. I noticed a cont. "clicking'" sound when the motor was running. I brought it back to the dealer> It was diagnosed as a bad valve. The dealer wants to replace all the valves and send me on my way. I'm not comfortable with this. Should I ask for my money back? I'm still with in my 3 day return period. It sounds serious to me. Help me please!

if it doesn't sound right with you then by all means return it and get something else. it cold be valves but it could also be to much clearance in it.

Sorry but I don't know what you mean by clearance.

all engine parts that move have to have clearance, meaning space between one partto another. in this case teh valve stem to guide where it goes up and down. hence clearance may be excessive eitehr casuing compression to go up guide giving the sound of a tick.
