Does it make the noise while moving or in park just giving it gas?Doesn't sound brake related.

I only notice it upon stepping on the gas peddle. As soon as my foot is off, it stops. From other posts, it almost sounds like a transmission problem with the gear that transfers the drive to shaft being loose in its housing. Is this something they could have done while doing the flush and refill? Also, my owners manual states to only use Honda fluids. I'm told that what they used is comparable in grade. But, since I didn't need the flush anyway, (am going back and forth with the service manager for some sort of credit), I'm thinking of making them reflush and put back in Honda fluid.

Okay, upon further testing....... I don't notice it in neutral. I can tell you that this morning, very cold, I warmed the car up for 5 minutes before taking off, gages said it was warm. The noice was bad. I really noticed it just pulling out of my driveway. It seemed to get louder the faster I went. And, at highway speeds, just taking my foot off the gas (coasting), the noice stopped. Then, just tapping the gas peddle, I heard it again. It does seem to be less in the afternoons when I drive home. I'm reading more and more that I should make the dealership put back in Honda fluid since they flushed the trasmission fluid and replaced it with Valvoline DOT 4. I had no problem until then. Could this have caused it? Or, maybe just expedited a problem I already had?

It could be the problem or caused a problem sounds like it's in the transmission.

took it to a mechanic friend who found that it had almost no transmission fluid. the stick showed well below the hot lines. while they were busy doing flushes I didn't need, they forgot to put transmission fluid back in it. I wonder if i have any damage due to driving three weeks like that....?

Did you take it back to them to show them?Only time will tell on the damage.Sometimes the flush machines under fill them or over fills them.Sounds like they didn't check it after the flush.

Now, for another question. I have an appointment to take my car back to the dealership tomorrow. Since, I've determined that I had been driving with little to no transmission fluid for 6 weeks, wouldn't there most likely be some damage? The attitude I am getting from the service manager over the phone is not too promissing. It definitely has a new noise. And with no fluid for 6 weeks, can we assume anything? I don't know what to ask for. And, it appears that they won't just offer. They know I'm not mechanically inclined.

If it was low enough it will cause damage you may have to call corporate to get some results or small claims court.See what the manager says first I would be asking for them to fix it and make it right.Do you have paper work from another shop saying it was X amount of quarts low?
