Steps to Unlock the Radio:
Turn on the ignition without starting the engine. Leave the car in "ON" position.

Turn on the radio. The display should show "LOC" or "LOCKED."

Retrieve the radio code:

Press and hold the preset buttons 1 and 4 (or 2 and 3 on some models) simultaneously for a few seconds. A 3-digit code will appear on the display. Write it down. Press the AM/FM button, and another 3-digit code will appear. Write this down as well. You now have a 6-digit code (the two 3-digit codes combined).

now says no VIN?

Turn the ignition key to the "On" position without starting the engine.
Press and hold the power button on the radio for about 10-15 seconds.
The radio should automatically try to learn the VIN from the car. If successful, the radio will unlock.
