I recently started hearing a whistling noise coming from the front of my car when I am traveling at higher speed. The noise changes pitch when I accelerate. I figured out that it only makes the noise when I am in automatic or 4 wheel drive. When I set it to 2WD I do not hear the sound. I took it to a shop and all they said was that I need a new transfer case. They didn't offer any troubleshooting ideas which I didn't really believe. Does anyone have any ideas of what this noise could be?
