Bonnet Release not working

The bonnet catch is not working and the bonnet will not open. The under bonnet finger catch is working, it seems that the in car lever is the problem.

He has contacted Ford who will only look at the car for a fee. We are happy to do this but wanted to see if anyone had any advice initially before we do this.

could be the cable is broken, or the latch has failed.

let them look at it for you to verify.

Give this a try.

Gently press on the bonnet and get your partner to pull at the lever and hold. Release your hold of the bonnet and try lifting it.

Thanks for this advice. We have tried this but it still isn't working. We have managed to call in a favour from a friend of a friend who is currently trying to fix it. Apparantly the cable has disconnected itself, the latches are working perfectly. He is currently waiting for a call back from a Ford Mechanic(one of his friends) who will hopefully be able to give some advice.

If the cable has fallen off from the housing, you can try to grab at the cable from fender side and tug at it. If it has fallen off completely, that would be more difficult.

Thanks again, they have tried grabbing the cable but it's just out of reach. Looks like we will have to take it down to the garage. Better to be safe than sorry.
