My car is the LE model. Could you please tell me the longevity of its internal water pump and the timing chains? There is currently 140,000 miles on this 2.5 liter Inline non turbo engine. I need to know when to trade it in before it starts nickle and dime-ing me. Thank you so much.

Hello,

The timing chain is not a maintenance item like the timing belt. It does not have any recommended replacement intervals.
However just like any mechanical components it can wear off, get loose or break. Timing chain should be inspected for excess play or any sign of wear and replace as necessary.
The water pump should be replaced if there is an issue like a leak or overheating due to bad water pump.
Many times the chain and the water pump does get replaced together just to save time.

I have included the complete replacement procedure for the timing chain and the water pump.

Please let me know of any questions.
Thank you.
