Vapor vent solenoid?

Im getting code p0449 vapor vent solenoid i looked it up oreillys autoparts has 2 a single port part cpv16 and a 2 port part cpv44 the only difference i see is 2 port has a fliter coming off the 2nd port does it really matter which one i use

You need the one that matches the one you have now.How do you know its bad?Just a code doesn't mean that is the problem setting the code. Here is the location of the valve in the diagrams below and a video to show you how to replace it.

My engine light is on and i did a troubleshoot and i got a trouble code - P0449 Evaporative Emission Control System Vent Valve/Solenoid Circuit Malfunction - But im not sure exactly how to correct it . My gas cap it also tight too,i was told it could have been that so im not sure please give me some good advise!

if i dont have time to take it right ,will it effect anything or cause more problems,and could this be the reason i have really bad gas milage?

I wouldnt wait too long, you may smell fumes if the vent is stuck open...

Yes you can. It is located close to fuel tank. When purchase a new one you will know what to look for. There is a quick connect hose you will have to disconnect and one electrical connector. The hose goes to the EVAP canister which is also mounted close to the fuel tank. I work at a chevy dealership. Let me know if you have any questions.

The EVAP canister is under the truck on the drivers side near the rear. Here are diagrams to help you see what you are in for when doing the job. Step by step instructions.

Check with your local GM dealer. There is an updated parts kit . The valve gets replaced and the filter gets located above the transmission. They should have a copy of a service bulletin for this.
