2008 Volkswagen Rabbit Rpm problem

Hi when driving my rpm will jump and will give me a boost while driving. Can somebody help me. Since i did my oil change and fixed my muffler it had done the same problem ever since.

this vehicle has a system that doesn't use a cable from the accelerator pedal to the engine. it uses a sensor in the pedal so that the vehicle speed is controlled electronically. this is something that needs to be properly diagnosed hands on by a pro as it can be very dangerous if you were to have a problem with it causing loss of control of the car
