Minimal hot air coming out of vents?

Are both heater core hoses getting hot? IF so (and the blend air door is working), you should have heat. If only one side is hot, chances are you still need to flush the heater core again.

When I turn on heat in car it used to blow out sometimes and sometimes it does not blow out for the last week Heat have not been blowing out when I adjust the knobs I can hear noise but I can't hear or feel heat blowing out I replace the blower motor and the motor resistor what could my problem be?

try upulling the hvac fuse inside car for 60 seconds then reinstall see if it works then. one of the actuators may be screwing up or not getting power or a door has broken in heater.

My heater isn't blowing hot air just cold. The radiator has fluid but it has some brown gunk in it. The blower works good just cold air and one of the hoses is hot when the temp gauge shows good I need a easy cheap fix if possible

you probably have a blown head gasket due to brown gunk but pull hvac fuse inside car with key on and reinstall it may reset actuators. your temp one isn't working. both hoses should be hot as well.

Heater will only blow slightly warm air, will not get hot. Air conditioner works perfect.

check heater core hoses going into core from engine for hot. i use an infrared temp reader i picked up at harbor fright for $10.

Not sure the identity of the hoses. I have no heat all of a sudden. Worked fine last winter. With the actron scanner the temp reading went up to 217 and back down to 192-194 the temp on the hoses was upper radiator 170 and lower radiator 114 hoses to the heater core lower 125 and upper 170. Is the heater core clogged and needs to be flushed or could it be the thermostat.

pull hvac fuse inside car and see if actuators reset do this with key on for 60 seconds then wait another minute and see if that cures it. if both hoses are hot then you don't need a tstat it may be the temp actuator not working.

Its kinda luke warm but not hot its warmer than before. Shouldn't it be blowing hot air

did you pull the fuse like I said with key on? both of your heater hoses should be hot to the touch. If you did that then it may be air in system as well. try bleeding air from system before flushing heater core and see if that helps. see pic. open screw when hot, let it run out until you see a steady stream of coolant then close it. make sure system is full of coolant if it is low right now have it pressure checked for intake/head gasket leak. low coolant is the number one cause of low or no heat

My thermostat gage stays at the cold-1/4 mark and isnt pumping out any heat. We changed the thermostat,water pump and cts (??) sensor. The system was flushed and pressurized, no leaks...still NO HEAT!! and gage still tempormental?? Help please, im about frustrated and am supposed to be driving 4 hours outta state thursday, should i still drive it??

Hi, rain1671 sounds like to me your heater core may be plugged up!! If you look under the hood on the back wall u should find 2 hoses going into the wall under the hood into the dash of your car. I would try disconeccting it and blowing it out with air or a water hose. If you use a water hose make sure u get most of the water out to where u have a 50/50 mix of anifreeze. Also, make sure you do this when the car is cool. Hope this helps :)

Ok no air just spit out fluid. I didn't take it all the way off.

you don't need ot take all the way off. temps seem ok did you take fuse out for hvac? with key on if not have it scanned for codes see if actuator is getting power or not. a garage will need to do that.

I noticed the air got warmer when I took it for a drive. But the actuator is that on of the things behind the glove box. I just replaced those this year.

yes but there are a couple of them. 1 is mode actuator and 2 is temp actuator.

my car does not have heat. i have added more dex cool coolant thinking that it was low and still no heat. What other steps do i need to take before having to go to the repair shop?

With engine warm, quickly touch the upper and lower heater core hoses, if one is hot and other is warm, then heater core is blocked.

If both hoses are cool then thermostat may be wide open, not letting car to warm up.

OK, I'm pretty mechanically inclined, but this one is throwing me. I have an 05 grand Prix GT with a 3.8 non S/C...no heat from the vents today. Temp gauge is going up, and stays up while driving which I would think would indicate the thermostat isn't stuck open. The lower hose is kinda cool, upper hose is hot, and both heater hoses are hot which I think would indicate not a heater core...however, I can squeeze the upper and lower hoses, the system isn't building up pressure, but I see no leaks. Any advice would be welcome.

If both heater hoses are getting hot you have a blend door issue.

I get cold air blowing from the vents. When I checked the hoses the top radiator hose is somewhat hot; the bottom hose is not so hot. My antifreeze level is good. What would be the cause of no heat??

Is the engine reaching the normal temp
is not or taking long time to do so check and suspect thermostat
if reach operating temp
check heater hoses by the fire wall they should be both hot
if one hot and the other cool heater core need to be flushed (not common on your car model )

if both hot suspect and check blend door actuator under dash in the HVAC box

We have a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix, V6 that is no longer giving heat. We have filled the coolant and changed the thermostat. Both helped initially but after turning the car off or letting it idle, it stopped blowing warm air. The blower is working. It seems that after changing the thermostat yesterday that it blows warmer air when the RPM's are high but as soon as it downshifts, the warm air stops and cold air resumes.

Those symptoms are point to a plugged up heater core. That would not only need to be replaced but the rest of the engine is likely where the contamination is coming from and that would have to be thoroughly treated and flushed first.
