how do I fix rear offside indicator and brake lights ?

I have a problem with my rear offside indicator light and brake light. For some unknown reason my rear indicator stopped working so I changed the bulb.But since changing the appropriate bulb both aforementioned lights have not worked even after changing the bulbs numerous times.
