2008 ninssan titan, abs light and slip light are on and when i put it in 4wd the little light for the front wheels blinks but it does not enguage.

You need a scan to check for trouble codes. Let us know what the codes are.

most common cause is a bad wheel speed sensor... anytime your abs sees a problem, it renders your 4x4 inop.... scan for abs codes....
