2008 Mercedes Benz E350 issue with stereo

The car was on dealer's lot for long time and they had to jump start the car now the stereo shuts off every 30 minutes. it gives me a warning "turn ignition on or stereo will shut of in 3 minutes". also the command controller on the steering wheel do not work. I live in North Dakota and there is no MB dealership where I am. someone suggested me to change my battery. Does changing the battery solve this problem? also where is the fuse located in the car?

hello, jumping the car or charging the battery will not help, you will need to visit a dealer and get the command software updated, i understand the dealer is far but this is the only option, this is very common for the E class models and their commands, a software update can only be performed by the dealer, hope this helps. sorry it was not a easier remedy.
