I have an Automatic Transmission elantra car, it was working fine, till a few weeks ago. i noticed that after i start the car and walk a few miles (in the range of 8 miles) the car shakes, and the rpm increases with the speed as if i was using the "L" gear!

one thing more, when the car reaches this state if i moved the gear to "N" , the car shakes. and if i moved the gear from the "N" to "D" gear, the car shakes also.

so what do you think??

it sounds internal if it stops shifting when hot. i assume the fluid is ok, as it works ok till it gets hot. you will need a shop that does transmissions to help you and give you a bid.

i believe it is internal which will require removal and inspection. you will most likely looking at an overhaul.

I am trying to think with you .. so if the problem was mechanical, the car from the first minute you start it, will have the problem! .. that means that mechanically the car is okay! ..

From the other side maybe it might be something that hunts/halts by temperature .. what do u think??

Anyway I will have it checked at a transmission shop and i will post the updates. Thanks.

seal issues are delays when cold and ok when hot. metal issues are ok cold and no good hot.

let me know how you make out.
