sticking fuel door

fuel door sticks on 2008 honda crv- cable is intact but door needs help from screwdriver or similar to open. also closes as if it is misaligned. tried lubrication- no good

Check if the spring for pushing the lid out is intact. A broken spring would not open the lid when the cable is pulled.

When lid is open, is it easy to flip it open and close?

Check the holding bolts and readjust to align if necessary.

thank you! I will definitely check the bolts as alignment seems off- closing the door also is tight and door appears to be catching on body of car. will let u know if that does it
