Fuel cap light/ transmission fluid

The check fuel cap light has come on in my 2008 Honda accord. The cap is on properly and is not damaged. Recently I took it to a repair shop for an oil change and they told me they had to add transmission fluid and they didn't know why because they couldn't find a leak. The transmission is functioning but a little jumpier than it was when it was newer. Any guesses what is wrong here and if the cap light might be related to the transmission issue?

Have you have had your transmission fluid flushed? If so, the mechanic may of left it at the "MIN' mark instead of the 'MAX' mark. Once the fluid warms up, the level will change since the oil expands. The repair shop may of not thought of this when they checked your transmission fluid. Personally, if there are no leaks, I wouldn't worry about it.

Your gas cap light is on because you have an EVAP. leak somewhere. It says "check fuel cap" because that is the most common leaking source. If the fuel cap is on tight, you will have to get it looked at.

The Check Engine Light is commonly mistaken as the Fuel Cap Light. In fact it is not only for the fuel cap but also a warning indicator of other control problems.

Get a free scan done at Autozone and other parts outlets and post the EXACT trouble code here. It could be a fault with the transmission and the indicator is telling you a problem hase been detected and it could be from the transmission.
