Why does my car make a squealing noise

This sounds like the serpentine belt needs to be replaced here is a guide to help with diagrams below. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know what happens.

I had to have the brakes and rotars changed 2 years ago, shortly after I bought this car because of squealing and grinding in the right, rear wheel. Now there is a high pitched squeal that comes and goes. We ruled out the brakes, but someone suggested it might be a bearing or a seal. I just had my tires rotated 3 weeks ago. Any ideas what the squealing might be?

Squealing ae usually caused by the brake pads. The pad wear indicator would cause a squealing noise when it is brushing against the rotors. Check the pad thickness.

My car has a constant squealing sound from the point of ignition, idle, and acceleration. This just started happening a couple weeks ago getting louder every day. Looking over the engine and trying to diagnose the sound kept taking me to the serpintine belt and or some of the pullies. Could these need to be replaced? i've never replaced them (bought used at 48,000 miles in 2005). please help!, i have a long trip coming up in a week for spring break and don't want to run into any problems. I viewed the drive belt routing for your car and there's no serpentine belt-Dunno if this is correct This is what I got for a 2000 Honda Accord V6 below-You might want to adjust it and see what happens or remove the belt one at a time to identify where the noise is actually come from

2003 Honda Accord 6 cyl Automatic 103000 miles

Hello. I just purchased a 2003 Honda Accord EX V6 with Automatic transmission. It has 103k miles on it. Lately I've been hearing squealing noises, which first tended to be quite loud when I first started the car up in the mornings, but as the car warmed up, the squealing noise tended to go away. Lately though, the noise is present nearly all of the time. Lastly, steering makes the squealing get louder. The previous owner told me that the timing belt was recently replaced in the vehicle, and when I popped the hood to listen more closely to the noise, it was coming directly from the vicinity of the timing belt. Any thoughts on what this could be and possisble guestimates on $$ for repair?

Well with what you are explaining I would say check the fan belt. It sounds like they may be old and glazed and therefore squeeling under load. As for how much to fix depends on weather or not you do this yourself. The belt costs about 45 dollars on average.

I got a new belt with the tool to fix it and the noise is now gone.
