2008 Ford F-250 Transmission Oil and filter change.

I have seen your you tube video on how to change transmission in a f250 for up to 2007 and it looks very helpful. I have a 2008 automatic f250 6.4l diesel engine. Is the process basically the same or is it more involved. I think we have to replace 8 quarts of Mercon LP? I also have heard about an external filter that needs changed and requires a special tool for removal. Is this true. Your help is greatly appreciated.
