turn the ignition key I get nothing

I have a 2008 Ford Escape. Sometimes when I turn the ignition key I get nothing. Sometimes it takes turning the key anywhere form 2 to 6 times before it roars to life. What's the problem? Usually it starts right up but this problem seems to be getting worse as time goes by. Help.

Do you have a theft lamp and is it on when trying to start it ?

When its not starting you will have to checl voltage to the starter on the bn- gn wire
