I have a 2008 ford escape that wont shift until about 4500-5000 rpm it has an automatic transmission do you think it could be a bad tps

It may, but I would recommend checking the shift solenoids and the trans control module. NOTE: I don't know how many miles are on the vehicle, but this type of problem will fall under a powertrain warranty.
