What would possibly be wrong with car when it feels like power steering is not working all the time?

When driving the car sometimes it does not want to steer properly. It feelds tight. This has the electronic steering and does not have a power steering stick to check the level.

the motor on the column may be failing. have a shop use a scan tool to verify.
