Just got a code P0172

I've reset the system so should I wait and see if it happens again. If not what are the easiest and cheapest ways to resolve this issue. Fuel injectors need to be cleaned , MAP sensor cleaned or replaced . It's only happened the once but I'm going to be selling the car soon and would like to have it fixed beforehand.

I just got a code P0172 ( System too Rich - Bank 1 ) on my 2008 Chev Impala and was asking if I reset it should I just wait awhile before I try anything else. If I do that but it re appears what suggestions do you have to resolve it. For example clean fuel injectors, clean or replace MAP sensor plus anything else you can suggest.

OK, this engine only uses one sensor for both banks so the whole system could be rich. You have to look at all kinds of things like injector leaks, MAP, MAF, temp sensors both air and coolant, diluted oil, etc.

Ok thanks. Could it be dirty injectors. They seem the easist to fix. Also with a good analyser like Snap On can you check to see if the MAP and those other sensors you mentioned are working properly. Like you said you just don't want to throw parts at it.

I guess I'm just looking at the cheapest way out .

No, dirty injectors won't set a rich code. Leaking injectors will.
