If you program new transmitters to the car, it erases the existing transmitters. The issue is the key cylinder in the door, it would have to be recoded to a new key cut, as well as the ignition cylinder. It is not too difficult to get the cylinder out, just removal of the steering wheel and the column shroud. You will need a key that fits the cylinder, as it needs to be rotated to run position to make the extraction.
