It sounds like perhaps the oil level sensor may be sending a false signal to the vehicle's computer. This could be caused by corrosion on the sensor connector contacts or a faulty sensor. Check out the diagrams (below) for the sensor location.

It's also possible that the oil level sensor is functioning properly, but the oil being used doesn't match the manufacturer's specifications, which are as follows:

Engine Oil

Grade - API SL, ACEA A1/B1, ILSAC GF-3

Below 104° F - 0W-30, 0W-40

-22° to 86° F - 5W-30

-13° to 104° F - 5W-40

-4° to 104° F - 10W-30

The oil capacity recommended by the manufacturer may not exactly match the fill level indicator on the dipstick. The oil capacity is 6.1 US quarts or 5.8 liters. If the engine is under-filled or over-filled even slightly, it could cause an oil level warning.
