While driving steering got extremely stiff, all kinds of warning lights lit up. When I tried to restart after turning off engine only blower came on along with warning lights. Later it did restart and I took to vw dealer close by- they say it's thealternator and cable-- want almost $2000 to repair as well as want to change oil for $173. what do you think. Friends think its just a main belt??
