How do you take an ABS sensor out of the back of a VW Caddy Van without breaking it?

In most cases it can not be avoided.
Why do you need to remove it?
If you are thinking about swapping sensors to try and cure an abs problem... the sensor can be checked while in place. If it fails the tests, bang it out knowing you are not wasting your time.
